With the rise of social media the past couple of years, we've all been busy placing "Like", "Tweet", "Share" and "+1" -buttons all over our websites, because obviously every word we write is so awesome that people are just dying to share them with the world, so conventional wisdom dictates that the least we can do is to make it easier for them - right?
Well, maybe not! - In his blog post "Sweep the Sleeze" Oliver Reichenstein challenges the conventional wisdom of placing social media buttons on websites/blogs - He actually suggests that REMOVING the social media buttons can result in increased sharing of your content:
